We loaned out our Chief Creative Office (Peter Riering-Czekalla) to spend the morning with Cool Hunting’s reporter Nara Shin. Read further to see some of the interview highlights and hear what she thought about the range.

The first quote from Peter starts with: “We don’t believe that the world needs another premium speaker brand, but needs something that delivers good design: Simple, engaging, playful and personality without trying too hard—at a fair price. We want to be the countertrend to over-premiumization.”

The article then leads on to say: NudeAudio achieves great sound quality at half the price by stripping away all of those “additional” features many consumer speakers boast—such as dual or stereo pairing, talk-back and alarm functions. “Simple design is the way of keeping the cost accessible. The only feature we added is the microphone so you can make phone calls—and so friends can join the call.” Focusing on just the essential audio feature allowed NudeAudio to devote more funds to higher quality amplifiers and drivers for their speakers. They also avoid celebrity endorsements and large advertising campaigns as not to pass those costs onto the customer; instead, they rely mostly on word of mouth.

We’re pleased to report that having used the speakers, Cool Hunting had some rather nice things to say about our bluetooth speakers bluetooth speakers. Here’s their closing remarks:

“Overall, the “Move” speakers are remarkably loud and crisp and even the smallest speaker packs a huge punch. They are charged and ready to go as soon as the box is opened; the battery lasts eight hours and is rechargeable with the provided USB charging cable. For outdoor use, we recommend the M, which had the strongest combination of portability and sound quality. For moving within the house, the larger L has full-range sound and doesn’t clip, even when cranked all the way up.:

When approaching Hong Kong with our new ‘Move’ range we wanted to find a launch partner who shared the same passion for design as we have. In a city rich with culture and with a surprising number of design and fashion stores, one store clearly stood out – Konzepp.

Founded by Willie Chan (former manager of Jacky Chan) and Geoff Tsui (Celebrity Designer), the store is truly a stand out space and great place to go and find some unique products. We fell in love with the Konzepp philosophy and approach and were delighted that they had a mutual appreciation of the NudeAudio range and were willing to partner with us to hold our Hong Kong launch party.

Nestled in the back streets of Sheung Wan (HK), you will find Konzepp with it’s iconic, bold yellow shop front. Luckily the store is on a dead-end road, which allowed the 250+ people in attendance to spill onto the street.

Where better to launch the new fashion inspired range of portable speakers than at one of the most progressive catwalk venues in London. Famed for showcasing some of the finest up and coming fashion talent, NudeAudio presented their range of portable speakers and supplied the music in the main exhibition area of Freemasons Hall, the home of Fashion Scout.

Fashion Scout Director Martyn Roberts commented: “Fashion Scout has always been at the forefront of new technology showing Fashion Films and hosting Blogger’s Lounges before anyone else. This vision, together with great design, is core to Fashion Scout’s unique offering. This is why we are delighted to be partnering with NudeAudio. With typical NudeAudio attention to detail, a bespoke feature table and set of metal stands were specially created to showcase the Bluetooth speakers in the art deco building.

Whilst visiting Germany, NudeAudio chose to have a launch party with their first Berlin retailer – an uber cool store called Early Bird Hype. The store specializes in seeking out cool and quirky items from around the world and showcasing them before other stores in Germany.

It wasn’t big budget, but the part-store and part-gallery was the perfect venue to showcase NudeAudio in Berlin. In attendance were a variety of channel partners and press from across Europe. It’s rare that you meet a blogger who describes their first encounter with a brand and product range in such detail – we were fortunate enough to bump into Guy from GALLERY X LDN who wrote up the following. It’s worth a read, but if you don’t have time to get through the 2000 words, here’s a flavor of what to expect:

So my interest in NudeAudio at this point was strictly in the unique shape. I thought I knew what to expect but I went along and decided I’d walk away quietly in two minutes.  Just as Tom puts on the Nude Audio ‘L’ (two in fact) my opinion and life changed for the better! The self confessed ‘Big Daddy’ of Bluetooth Portable Speakers, (the top of the range NudeAudio speaker) was unlike any sound I’d ever heard before. It wasn’t like the sound of Bluetooth speakers I had experienced in the past. This was rich, well defined and with a heavy bass that flowed gloriously through the grand auditorium of the ‘Ones to Watch’ showcase with a punchy undulating rhythm.

“Though it was the ‘L’ that had moved me. I was won over by the size and weight of the ‘M’. This retails at £39.99 and is the most value for money, as it really delivers a greatly defined sound and is oh so travel friendly. If you’re like me and use the tube on a daily basis, this is probably your best option as it can even fit into a jacket pocket measuring a tiny 3.86 x 3.9 x 1.5 inches. My old Sony Walkman was bigger! . . . ”

“Luckily I was fortunate to have a demonstration at Fashion Week. Had I not seen a demo, I would have expected a much smaller sound for such a low price. I was quite blown away by the innovative audio technology on offer especially something that was so fashionable and robust whilst being completely lightweight.”

Wired mag have established themselves over the last 20 years as one of the leading tech and lifestyle magazines and websites. We’re delighted therefore that they selected the NudeAudio move range as one of the top 7 show highlights at IFA alongside the new Samsung watch and Sony camera. This is a show with 10’s of thousands of new products being presented for the first time, so it’s no small achievement. We’re glad they like what we’re up to!

Sitting between the Beats and Monster Audio stands at the front of the main audio hall, NudeAudio clearly stood out from the crowd with a clean, minimal stands that beautifully presented the new range. Their presence was certainly refreshing, as they explained their mission to deliver premium quality speakers at non-premium price points.
